Creating safe, supportive spaces for migrant and refugee women to grow, connect, and thrive

Programme Overview
The Circle is a community-designed empowerment and upskilling programme for migrant and refugee women in Canterbury. It’s a women only programme, delivered by female facilitators.
Created by women, for women, The Circle provided a safe, culturally responsive space for participants to build confidence, explore opportunities, and pursue personal and professional development.
While The Circle is currently inactive, it remains a central part of our mission — and we continue to work toward bringing it back in response to community demand and available funding.

Who It’s For
- Women from migrant and refugee backgrounds
- Those seeking connection, personal growth, and practical upskilling
- Community members navigating resettlement and identity in Aotearoa
Programme Focus Areas
When active, The Circle included workshops and sessions on:
- Improve your IT & English skills for work (or getting a job)
- Reconnect to your authentic self and nourish your soul
- Adopt a healthy diet and learn some new recipes
- Stay physically active
Help Us Bring The Circle Back
We are actively exploring ways to relaunch The Circle in future terms.
If you’d like to register your interest (as a participant, facilitator, or funder), we’d love to hear from you.
